October also sees the return of “Thirsty Thursdays” - Our doors will open at 5pm and All Pints are only £5 and you can enjoy a Double for the Price of a Single on our House Vodka, House Gin & our flavoured Gins. We have more Events & more Live Music this October starting with the return of the ever popular Giles Nuttall this Friday, 4th October. “OctoberFest BINGO” (it’s going to be a goodie!) will be a hilarious, and no doubt chaotic evening on the Thursday 17th, the incredibly talented Joanna Cooke returns on Friday 18th, & Jake Bridgwood aka “The Wandering Cook” is back with a “Pasta Pop Up” on Saturday 19th October. Then before we know it it’ll be Dartmouth Food Festival when we’ll be open from midday Friday 25th to Sunday 27th, and we are thrilled to have Live Music with James Harris Sax & DJ Billy Baker on Friday 25th, and Luke Potter on Saturday 26th. September is here, the Autumnal Equinox is in a couple of weeks and as the season changes from summer to autumn so do we...
The biggest lesson the seasons can teach us is the nature of impermanence, that things are constantly changing, and here at The Sail Loft Dartmouth we are changing things once again. We will continue to open Thursday to Monday (closed Tuesday & Wednesdays) but our new hours this September are 5pm to 10.30pm (except Sundays when we will close at 9pm). We will still be serving our Pizza & Sizzling Slider Menu, but we also have some GUEST CHEF Pop-ups to look forward to! Sigourney Mayer-Hughes of The Greedy Table takes over our KITCHEN on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd September with a delicious Mediterranean Small Plates Menu, and on Sunday 29th September Jake Bridgwood returns to The Sail Loft, this time for SUNDAY LUNCH with The Wandering Cook. Please go to our KITCHEN page for the menus, and please note BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL for these two events. FRIDAY NIGHT is Music Night, and this September the incredibly talented JOANNA COOKE returns on the 13th, then we have DJ ROWAN MAYER-HUGHES on Friday 20th, and last but by no means least GILES NUTTALL on Friday 27th September. LIVE MUSIC continues every Friday Night with our Finest Stays Après Sea Summer Sessions, beginning THIS Friday with the hugely popular Schofield at 7.30pm, we can't wait, it's going to be a fantastic evening. In August our food BY DAY is our Bagel & Bap Menu & BY NIGHT our Pizza & Slider Menu.... On Sundays we will be serving a special Sunday Food Menu. Hot drinks, smoothies & Bagels from 12pm to 5pm and then Pizzas from 5pm to 8.30pm. Tables are available to BOOK in our 1st Floor LOUNGE on Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings ONLY, and you can book up to 2 hours before. We also offer tables on a walk-in basis & we serve food in our downstairs BAR & outside COURTYARD, so there is plenty of space for everyone. If the booking system says there are no tables available to book we are still very likely to have space so please pop along. Unfortunately dogs are NOT allowed in our LOUNGE, but they are more than welcome in our BAR & COURTYARD. (sorry but we don't take bookings during the day or on Sundays). Finally, apologies but we will be closing this Saturday 3rd August for a Private Event from 5pm, but we will be open as normal from 10am through to the afternoon with our Coffee Boat, Bagel Bar & drinks from the Bar. The sun shone daily, & it was great to see so many of you drinking & eating breakfast/brunch/lunch & dinner and drinking copious amounts of rose in our Sunny Courtyard. Here's hoping it marks the start of a fabulously Sunny Summer, and to make the most of the wonderful weather coming our way we are thrilled to announce our extended opening hours for June.
From this Thursday 6th June our new hours are from 10am right through to 10.30pm Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays, and we will be serving our fabulous Bagel & Baps menu from 10am to 2.30pm and then our evening food from 6pm to 8.30pm. Then from the 16th June we will be opening on Sundays from 10am to 6pm too! Brunch will be served from 10am until1pm, and then drinks through till 6pm. This Thursday, Friday & Saturday will be our popular Pizza Nights, with LIVE MUSIC with Giles Nuttall on Friday 7th June from 7pm. We are then so excited to be launching our new Sail Loft Summer SLIDERS Menu on Thursday 13th June. This fabulous annual 3-day Festival is now in its 25th year with over 100 performances spanning almost every musical genre, the festival offers an eclectic mix of orchestral, rock, choral, blues, opera, folk, and jazz performances at a variety of indoor and outdoor venues all over Dartmouth, and even better it’s all FREE to listen to! The Dart Music Festival’s motto is "Music for All" and since its inception in 1998, the Festival has attracted thousands of visitors and has become one of the stars in Dartmouth’s calendar, appealing to old and young alike. The Sail Loft Dartmouth will be home to a number of hugely talented musicians over the weekend, starting with Giles & Amber at 6.30pm on Friday evening - warming up the crowd before Lost Natives, South Devon's premiere party band, return to the The Sail Loft delivering a powerful collection of anthems, floor fillers and hits from the 70s through to the 20s from 8pm! Please note we will only have one sitting for Pizza's this Friday - 6pm - so book your table now to avoid disappointment! Saturday & Sunday we are thrilled to announce it is a SoSlam takeover at the Sail Loft!. This not for profit record label comes down to Dartmouth from Essex en masse every year, and you will be able to see their acts and chat to them all weekend The Sail Loft. Soon, sunset will be after 9pm, and sunrise ever closer to five! Long days and two long weekends and maybe even lots of sunshine - we can but dream! When we opened the doors of The Sail Loft Dartmouth 3 years ago, in May 2021 we described it as an evolving and ever changing business, and with that in mind we are so excited to announce our new DAYTIME venture, making the most of our beautiful building and our Sunny Courtyard. Combining Rupert’s passion for great coffee and Sarah’s love of Bagels, along with our continued enthusiasm to always try something new, we are thrilled to be launching 3 new concepts - The Coffee Boat, The Bagel Bar, & The Work Loft all under the roof of our iconic building on Thursday 2nd May from 9.30am-2.30pm. As for the rest of May, well it's going to be another busy fun-filled month at The Sail Loft Dartmouth. Friday Nights continue with LIVE MUSIC & PIZZAS, starting with the legend that is Take Away Dave on the decks Friday 3rd May. The ever popular Giles Nuttall returns on 10th & 24th May, and Lost Natives, South Devon's premiere party band will be kicking off Dart Music Festival with a powerful collection of anthems, floor fillers & hits from the 70s through to the 20s. The rest of our Dart Music Festival will be announced early next week. Finally, we welcome back the hugely talented Joanna Cooke on Friday 31st May. On the FOOD side of things, we will be hosting a Dart Music Festival Brunch on Sunday 19th May, and we are VERY excited to be welcoming The Greedy Table aka Sigourney Mayer-Hughes to The Sail Loft Dartmouth for the first time, with an INCREDIBLE Mediterranean Sharing Feast on Thursday 23rd May. February thankfully flew past and now we will start to see the awakening of spring and hopefully revitalising energy for all! In March Winter finally holds back and Spring pulls forward with lengthening days & evenings, it’s a time for coming out of hibernation, the anticipation of vibrant times ahead, and definitely time to plan some fun evenings out with family & friends!
We've got so much planned over the coming weeks at The Sail Loft Dartmouth, and we kick off March on Friday 1st with LIVE MUSIC with Rob Hunt and Pizza Night at The Sail Loft. We are CLOSED on Saturday 2nd March for a Private Event, but the good news is we will be opening on Thursdays again in March, starting 7th March, with our inaugural BINGO NIGHT!! Coincidentally it is National Pie Week and you have a choice of Chuck Steak, Onion & Devon Dumpling Ale Pie or Roast Pumpkin, Spinach and Pine Nut Pie, both served with Mash, Minted Peas & Onion Gravy for only £15 - an absolute Bargain!! Thursday 14th March we are open for drinks only, and Friday 15th is LIVE MUSIC with Jack Benjamin & Pizzas, and Saturday 16th is the Six Nations Finale with all 3 matches being shown, Wales vs Italy, Ireland vs Scotland & France vs England with Pizzas being served from 5pm.
